Overview
Registered in 2012 as a for-profit company, Moringa Private Limited (Moringa Bangladesh) is a private sector initiative under social enterprise concept. Purpose of this company is to identify social problems that need immediate and vigorous attention for the progress of the human of the world. Initially Moringa Bangladesh started working with natural nutritional food supplement. Started its R&D activities in late 2011 it is now about to scale up the commercial production for mass population.
As a social enterprise Moringa Private Limited works under the Board of Trustees. We are engaged in organic superfood & natural medicine for human, animals and plants.
Animals
Besides human consumptions, Moringa could be very benificial for animals too. We are under joint program with Govt. Livestock Research Institute in Bangladesh to produce such food.
Plants
Organic fertilizers are healthy for both plants and earth. Our organization is under research and development for the production of organic fertilizers.
Seeds
We value the natural growth of plants and foods for a better sustainable earth. In that context we collect and provide better Moringa seeds from other countries too.

Program
Plantation and manufacturing Moringa Oleifera and other plants rich in nutritional and medicinal value is the key operational area for Moringa Pvt. Ltd. Skill development to the community on the know-how to utilise the maximum of those plants’ by plantation and product usage is another important goal for the firm.

This is where we sow the seeds in the lands.
Growing
Proper carer are taken including cleaning, watering and fertilization.
Harvesting
We begin to harvest the leaves, drumsticks and other parts.
Producing
The collected tree parts are processed scientifically including drying by preserving it's nutrition values.

Zakiya Akther
Co-Founder & CEOZakiya Akther is a social entrepreneur and CEO of Moringa Pvt. Ltd. Her mission is to bring wellbeing to the people and environment through the use of natural resources.
In 2011 left her job in UNICEF with the intension to work something for people very directly. She started working as In-Charge in a business incubation center. While working and learning for small scale entrepreneurs, she came to know about Moringa and felt interested to know more in dept and started the R&D using moringa how much it really works in human and animal life. After analysis of the product development and trails she had belief that Moringa will be the next plant of the earth with its enormous benefits and she became convinced that she got something to involved fully which will give her opportunity to present something good to people through Moringa. From that time she is dedicated and committed to bring Moringa Private Ld. In a shape that can produce and serve a mass people.
Zakiya studied leadership in Innovation from Robert Kennedy College, Zurich under York St; John’s University in 2012. Before that she completed her graduation and post graduation in Business Administration from IBS, Jahangirnagar University in 2002. She also has completed several diplomas on international finance in development sector, nutrition and sustainable development through online courses under World Bank and several universities’ supervision.

DirectorJhumur contributes in the Finance and Marketing initiatives. She is an experienced home maker and has valuable knowledge in Moringa.

Mohammad Sami Akhtar
PharmacistSami Akhtar is the founding father and innovator of Moringa Pvt. Ltd. He is leading the research activities of the company. Among other studies he has lead field trials on using Moringa juice as growth enhancer in the agricultural sector, studies on the health impact of providing garments workers with Moringa-based food supplements and research on the potential to use Moringa leaves in fighting malnutrition and stunting among children.
Sami Akhtar’s mission is to use his pharmaceutical knowledge, business network and innovative ideas for the betterment of the people.
Sami works for a leading pharma company in Bangladesh in mid-level management position. He holds both bachelor and masters degree in Pharmacy from Jahangirnagar University.
